Lorenzetti was distinguished as “goodwill ambassador for environmental justice in the Americas”

The President of the Supreme Court of Justice, Ricardo Lorenzetti, was distinguished by the Organization of American States (OAS), along with three other members of the highest courts in Latin America, as “Goodwill Ambassador for the Environmental Justice to promote the state of environmental law ”.

Besides Lorenzetti, judges Antonio Herman Benjamin (Superior Court of Justice of Brazil), Sergio Muñoz (Supreme Court of Justice of Chile) and Alfredo Gutiérrez Ortiz Mena (Supreme Court of Justice of Mexico) received the same recognition.

It was in the framework of a dialogue meeting on environmental law between the OAS Secretary General and representatives of the Judicial Powers of the Americas, which took place on February 11 and 12, at the OAS headquarters in Washington DC, United States.

This is the OAS initiative “Protecting the Common House from the Judiciary: Guaranteeing the Rights of More People in the Americas”, which, among other results, seeks to implement the Inter-American Judicial Training Program on the state of environmental law and establish an action protocol for the Judiciary in environmental matters and access rights.
