The judge of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation Ricardo Lorenzetti participated in the III International Forum of Environmental Justice that was held in Santiago, Chile, on the 29th and 30th of November, 2018. He also held a meeting with judges of the Constitutional Court of Chile.
The International Forum on Environmental Justice was born in 2014 at the initiative of the Environmental Court of Santiago, with the hope of consolidating as a periodic body in order to exchange ideas and experiences in various matters related to Environmental Justice.
Currently, as indicated, it constitutes the largest event of its kind in Chile and one of the main ones in the region. Its editions have brought together magistrates of superior, constitutional and environmental courts, academics and specialists in matters related to Environmental Justice and the different expressions of Environmental Law.
The III International Forum on Environmental Justice is a space for dialogue on various matters related to the State, matters of great importance and those related to the different institutional models that express Environmental Justice. Also, regarding existing trends in terms of environmental concepts and principles applicable in the jurisdictional function, as well as the role of environmental constitutional guarantees, among others.
